For families who want the full newborn experience — Dr. Sebastian comes to you. Every scheduled well-child visit in your baby's first four months, done at home. No driving with a newborn and your toddlers. No diaper bags or baby bottles. No waiting rooms. No juggling appointments during the most exhausting weeks of your life.
This is where the Mitten Pediatrics experience begins for many families. Before the uncertainty sets in. Before you're not sure who to call at 7pm. Dr. Sebastian is already part of your home.

Physician-led, IBCLC-certified lactation consultations — available to any family in the Grand Rapids area, no membership required. Choose from an in-home bundle or an in-office à la carte visit.

Exceeds the $150 individual monthly HSA cap. Existing HSA funds may be used, but new contributions cannot be made during enrolled months. Disclosed at enrollment.

Expecting a baby?
Enroll before they arrive.
Families can enroll in the Warm Mitten Package before baby arrives to reserve their spot with Dr. Sebastian. After delivery, you have the option to add lactation services to your care for additional feeding support. Once your Warm Mitten Package is complete, your membership seamlessly transitions into the standard pediatric membership beginning in month five—no additional enrollment fee required.

Yes — we recommend keeping insurance for hospitalizations, specialist visits, imaging, and emergencies. What your membership eliminates is the need to use insurance for the routine primary care Dr. Sebastian provides. Many families pair our membership with a high-deductible health plan or health share to reduce overall costs.

For existing children, billing begins at enrollment. For prenatal enrollees, the $150 enrollment fee is due at sign-up, and monthly membership fees begin at birth. Warm Mitten Package families transition to standard membership from month 5 onward — no new enrollment fee required.

Rates adjust automatically at your child's next birthday — from $195 to $150 at age 2, and from $150 to $100 at age 6. We'll notify you in advance so there are never surprises on your bill.

Memberships may be canceled at any time, with cancellation effective at the start of the next calendar month. A six-month waiting period is required before re-enrollment.

Vaccines are approached through open, respectful conversations with each family. Dr. Sebastian takes the time to discuss your questions, provide evidence-based guidance, and work with you to determine the approach that feels right for your family.

Yes. Mitten Pediatrics covers all of your child's primary care needs, but you'll still want insurance for hospitalizations, specialist visits, imaging, surgeries, and ER visits. Think of us as replacing your primary care costs — not your entire insurance plan.

Dr. Sebastian maintains a carefully managed panel — small by design. This is what makes same-day access, direct communication, and unhurried visits possible. A typical insurance-based pediatric practice sees 1,500–2,000 patients. We see a fraction of that — by design.
